Today’s Monday Inspiration is more of a personal exploration and thought for the day. The book, Rethink: The Way You Live by Amanda Talbot has been in my head for a couple of days, ever since I read Erin’s honest and heartfelt post on Design for Mankind. In her book, Amanda challenges people to reconsider how to redesign their homes. Now, what does this mean? She talks about “the way people are starting to live, with an overview of the amazing things happening and how you can include them in your life. Do you grow your own food, reuse and recycle, source quality products instead of big-name brands, or take time to craft rather than purchase? If so, you are already embracing the global trend.”

Monday Inspiration | Rethink The Way You Live

I keep thinking about that one sentence. Let me repeat it. “Do you grow your own food, reuse and recycle, source quality products instead of big-name brands, or take time to craft rather than purchase?” This thought started me thinking about my own journey, and how Bright Bold and Beautiful has changed before my eyes without me realizing it. If you have been with me from the beginning {every day since 2009} you will see that my focus has developed to include more DIY home projects. When I started this blog, I never would have believed that I would be writing about chalkboard paint ideas or making succulent gardens. I have realized that “making” and “doing” is where my passion lies. Another passion of mine is Etsy.  Selling and supporting others on Etsy, the leader in the handmade movement, just feels good to me. I am proud to be a part of this “global trend” of doing-it-yourself and embracing those artists and crafters who make things.

In a nutshell, I hope you will join me in the conversation about living a bright bold and beautiful life, and together, we will explore this handmade movement and global trend.
