I am all about easy DIY projects. Here is a super easy Spring DIY project, Chalkboard Painted Herb Pots, that is not only simple, but so fun. I am a tiny bit obsessed with chalkboard paint! Soon, I hope I will have fresh herbs, Basil, Oregano and Cilantro in my kitchen window. See below for instructions.
Easy DIY Projects | Chalkboard Painted Herb Pots
Materials You Need:
- Small terra cotta pots – I purchased my 4″ Terra Cotta pots from Home Depot for .78 cents each.
- You can find Chalkboard Spray Paint at any craft store.
- Herb Seeds you wish to grow. I planted Basil, Oregano and Cilantro.
- Masking Tape to cover the rim.
- Potting Mix
- White Chalk
Instructions:
- I covered each rim of the pots with artist tape (you can use masking tape.)
- Holding the pot by the taped rim, I sprayed the exposed clay part with the Chalkboard paint.
- After the chalkboard paint dries (follow instructions on the can) I removed the tape.
- I filled each pot with potting mix and planted the seeds.
- I wrote each herb name on the pots with the white chalk.
- They are placed in my kitchen window with full sun.
I water them a little each day, and can’t wait to see little green shoots coming up soon! I’ll keep you posted on the progress via Instagram @lauratrevey.
Good luck with your own. What are your favorite herbs to use?
