Today’s Holiday Home Tour is a special treat. As I mentioned earlier, I was able to take a peek into Sonya and Greg Orlick’s home just hours before their memorable holiday party. Most of you have probably finished your holiday decorating, so grab a cup of tea and enjoy these stylish and glamorous rooms with me. Every square inch is decorated to perfection. Sonja chose turquoise and lime as her color scheme, which compliments her chic home decor. In the foyer, I am in awe of this beautiful crystal lamp and exquisite mirror behind it.
Holiday Home Tour – Sonya Orlick
Sonja has some amazing original art throughout her home, and I am loving this cow!
In the dining room, preparations are being made for the gourmet menu that will be served.
In the kitchen are the most beautiful flower arrangements and holiday decorations. This designer kitchen is meant for entertaining, and I understand that Greg is quite the chef himself. The large island lends itself for festive gatherings.
Beautiful topiaries, silver reindeer, sweet angels and lime holiday decorations fill the kitchen window sill with cheer.
Then we enter my favorite room, which was just updated with grass cloth wall coverings. Do you see the monogrammed chair? Words cannot describe how lovely this room is. So I will just show you. This room should be in the pages of House Beautiful magazine. The December / January 2013 issue of House Beautiful features “How we’ll decorate in 2013″ and being “obsessed with Grass Cloth”. On page 98, blogger Julie Yenicag of Belle Vivir states, “The versatility of grass cloth wallpaper is indisputable. It adds coziness and texture to a bare wall almost instantly, while the natural fibers provide a home with that perfectly imperfect patina…” Sonya, you are on the cutting edge with the 2013 home decor trends.
I love her soothing color palette of neutrals mixed with blues and greens and this large abstract pulls all of these colors together.
You can get so many home decorating ideas just from this room. The bookshelves are styled with meaningful family photos and baskets paired with one of a kind decorative sculptures.
The living room or den is classic and comfortable with chocolate brown accent pillows against the aqua wall color and white sofa. On the wall is an ornate mirror which reflects the light around the room.
In the corner of the den, even the Christmas tree keeps with the lime and turquoise color scheme complete with pretty wrapped packages beneath it.
Fresh roses and greens in small bud vases are scattered about.
A sweet bow around the lamp adds a finishing touch.
Sonya and Greg are expecting a large crowd for their soiree, and the backyard is ready with space heaters, a fireplace and a gorgeous outdoor living area. They are even keeping their pool {with cascading fountains} open for the special occasion.
Thank you Sonya and Greg! I am so inspired by your amazing home, and your holiday party will be a night to remember! Happy Holidays to both of you.
