Today for our Home Tours Blog segment, we have a special Boca Raton Condo Tour! If you love and appreciate art, prepare to be amazed. As I entered Rhoda Schneider’s designer condo, I was welcomed by the powerful abstract painting in the foyer called Rising Moon, a colorful Hans Hofmann reproduction.
On the Baker black lacquer console is a Chinese Bi Disc promoting a feeling of peace and serenity.
“My sister (a professional decorator) and I designed the layout, kitchen, and floors. She became ill and we brought in a friend, Joseph Pubillones {Palm beach Interior Decorator} to help me finish with the furniture. He thought of the long architectural wall inspired by the work of Louise Nevelson. I believe it makes the apartment – giving it depth and character.”
The bright and beautiful living room is a comfortable setting to enjoy the ocean views.
The bubbly Calder iron tables are a perfect fit for this playful room near the ocean waves.
I was also thrilled to find out that the Ikat print pillow came from Etsy. I think it goes quite well in this designer condo!
On the white wall is another Hans Hofmann Reproduction, Joy Sparks of the Gods II, 1965.
Rhoda tells me that every morning at sunrise, the light pours in the room and the crystal lamps create rainbows. How magical.
I love the colors in the study/office which were inspired by the Liner poster on the wall against the gorgeous Jaffe wallpaper. On the other wall is an original painting, “hot air into water” above two crate and barrel stools.
The powder room in blue has the most beautiful glass sink bowl. Rhoda wanted the blue color in the bathroom. In every other room, you can see the blue of the ocean; therefore, you will notice there is not much blue anywhere else. {except for the seltzer bottles coming up!}
I love the Picasso print above this lovely chair in designer fabric in the guest bedroom. It’s such a cozy spot for quite time.
I saved the best for last, the oceanfront kitchen! Rhoda states, “The inspiration for the apartment came from my Grandfather’s seltzer bottles – blue bottles above the island. They are from the 1920′s. I always loved them as a child… and somehow they stayed with the family. The apartment was meant to be contemporary, casual, comfortable, colorful and fun.”
“The fabric on the chairs is quite unique. It is a clear plastic with red and yellow yarn..sewed to the plastic… We lined it with muslin… and it is my favorite fabric… Yes I do like primary colors.”
Rhoda! Your designer condo is extraordinary and I cannot thank you enough for letting me tour it. I hope to come back and visit again soon!
