Bright Bold and Beautiful is your Easy DIY Projects blog. Today’s project is how to make an easy and fun Father’s Day card using regular materials around the house. Handmade cards are made with love.
Take a plain white piece of paper. Get some markers, glitter, buttons, scrapbook paper, doilies and any other favorite decorating materials you have in house. I like the idea of creating a collage with different magazine clippings, stamps, and maps too. Use photos and pictures of places and things you like to do with Dad. Use Sharpie pens, watercolor paints or crayons to add color, text, lines and anything you want to add to the Father’s Day card.
Write your “Happy Fathers Day” message on the card. Personalize it with his favorite sport, school, favorite number, etc. You can decorate the paper with watercolor paint splashes using a sponge brush or even a toothbrush!
Once the collage is finished, you can have fun with computer editing only if you want to add more elements and layers to the collage. Sometimes the 100% handmade card is the best. However, I took a photo of the finished collage and downloaded it onto Picasa. From there I played around with the Picnik editing tools. See how creative you can make your card by experimenting with color plays and softening the edges.
You are welcome to print these cards, and add your personal message.
