Beautiful Sitting Rooms: I am thrilled to invite you into the home of Alison Crenshaw here in Richmond Virginia. Her home design is classic traditional style with modern and chic accents. Two of my favorite spaces in her home are these elegant sitting rooms filled with fine china collectibles, family portraits and designer fabrics. Alison has managed to decorate with sophistication while maintaining a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I wanted to sit with my cup of green tea and iPad for hours while the sun was pouring in from the gorgeous windows.
In this sunroom, the fabric is called Sea Breeze Blue Sky by P Kaufmann, and the fresh and cheerful paint color is Honeydew by Benjamin Moore. The ottoman fabric came from Williams and Sherrill here in Richmond.
In the living room, The Crenshaw’s had abstract portraits made of each of their three daughters. This personal touch is definitely the focal point of the room.
Everything was just perfect. Even the orchid seemed to coordinate with the decorative pillows on the sofa.
